DESCRIPTION
        UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter) 串列埠適用於TIDSKEVM DSP開發平台並同時提供四個相容於DTE (Data Terminal Equipment)DCE (Data Communication Equipment)RS-232-C串列傳輸介面。並擁有適合UART的開發軟體。這些擴充卡適合用在TI DSP EVM 開發系統的 TI MS320 交會平台擴充卡上。

型號 區別
RS232-2 2 UART-to-RS-232-C ports, 1 as DTE with male DB-9, 1 as DCE with female DB-9.
RS232-2-S 2 UART-to-RS-232-C ports, 1 as DTE with  male DB-9, 1 as DCE with female DB-9, 可堆疊上去.
RS232-4 4 UART-to-RS-232-C ports, 2 as DTE with  male DB-9, 2 as DCE each with female DB-9.
RS232-4-S 4 UART-to-RS-232-C ports, 2 as DTE with  male DB-9, 2 as DCE each with female DB-9,  可堆疊上去..

          Above is a block diagram of the standard RS-232-C Serial Communication Port cards showing the location of each of the four ports, (labelled "CHANNELS" on the cards) the gender of the 9-pin, DB-9 connector, and the  DTE/DCE configuration.  Each channel has a UART driving the interface.  Channels 1 and 2 are included in the 2-port cards and channels 1, 2, 3, and 4 are included in the 4-port cards. Note that at the time of order, the DTE/DCE configuration, and the interface of any channel can be specified differently.  Note also that a DTE always has a male connector and a DCE always has a female connector. 

          Channel 2 is included in the 1-port card and wired as a DTE with a male connector.  The hardware UART is removed allowing a software UART to be used instead, 

 

RS-232-C BLOCK DIAGRAMS

Block diagrams of each of the RS-232-C interface cards are shown below.  

     Block diagram of the Model DSPG-IC-1-232, (no hardware UART, software UART required), single channel, RS-232-C Serial Communication    This is the only card that does not have a hardware UART.  It is used when a software UART is implemented in order to minimize hardware in the final product.  This card has an RS-232-C interface wired as a "DTE" (Data Terminal Equipment), and a male 9-pin, DB-9 connector labeled "TO DCE", unless specified otherwise at the time of order.  UART software is not included but can be downloaded from the TI website by clicking HERE.  

 

     Block diagram of the Model DSPG-IC-2-U232, 2-channel, UART-to- RS-232-C This card is shipped with one RS-232-C interface in wired as a "DCE" (Data Communication Equipment), with a female, 9-pin, DB-9 connector labeled "TO DTE", and  one RS-232-C interface wired a " DTE" (Data Terminal Equipment), with a male, 9-pin, DB-9 connector labeled "TO DCE".  (This standard  configuration can be changed upon request at the time of order).

 

     Block diagram of the Model DSPG-IC-4-U232, 4-channel, UART-to- RS-232-C This card is shipped with the RS-232-C interface in Channels 1 and 3 wired as a "DCE" (Data Communication Equipment), with female, 9-pin, DB-9 connectors each labeled "TO DTE", and  the RS-232-C interface in Channels 2 and 4 wired as a " DTE" (Data Terminal Equipment), with male, 9-pin, DB-9 connectors labeled "TO DCE".  (This standard  configuration can be changed upon request at the time of order).
