H.264 technologies for FPGA (VHDL IPs)
 

ATEME delivers H.264/MPEG4-AVC technologies for end-to-end streaming solutions.
Encoders, decoders and streaming IP integrated with 3rd party DRM has been demonstrated at IBC (September 2004, Amsterdam). Our technology is available and already adopted by customers, in Broadcast, Broadband and Corporate markets, in live SD main profile encoders and in IP Set-Top Boxes for H.264 DSP decoder.

ATEME proposes 3 independent VHDL IPs to help customers in designing their own solution. All these IPs are compliant with ISO/IEC 14496-10 specification.

  • H.264 Bitstream IP encodes the macro blocks information using CABAC and/or CAVLC coding mode, and generates H.264 bit-stream.
    • CABAC, CAVLC and PCM coding modes support
    • Baseline and Main Profiles
    • Non adjacent macro blocks support
    • Neighbourhood context autonomously managed
    • Progressive and Interlaced Images support (including PAFF and MBAFF)
    • Input: NAL units (one slice per NAL)
    • SD (10 Mbits) and HD (25 Mbits) format...
  • H.264 Loop Filter (or Deblocking) IP filters the macro blocks information and generates reference video.
    • Loop Filter or Deblocking module
    • Main Profile
    • Neighbourhood context autonomously managed
    • Progressive and Interlaced Images support (MBAFF support)
    • SD and HD 720p format (soon HD 1080i)...
  • H.264 Motion Estimation IP estimates the relative motion of each macro block of a source image to a reference image. The whole picture is processed autonomously.
    • Customizable Lagrangian Multiplier (customizable scalar coefficient table)
    • Configurable window search
    • Autonomous context management
    • Progressive and Interlaced Images support (MBAFF support)
    • SD format...

ATEME is a member of the MPEG Industry Forum and participates in H.264 interoperability tests.
