H.264 technologies for FPGA (VHDL IPs)
 

ATEME delivers H.264/MPEG4-AVC technologies for end-to-end streaming solutions.
Encoders, decoders and streaming IP integrated with 3rd party DRM has been demonstrated at IBC (September 2004, Amsterdam). Our technology is available and already adopted by customers, in Broadcast, Broadband and Corporate markets, in live SD main profile encoders and in IP Set-Top Boxes for H.264 DSP decoder.

ATEME single-chip encoder solution uses only a FPGA, a DDR RAM for video sequences and a FLASH device for boot operation.

ATEME is a member of the MPEG Industry Forum and participates in H.264 interoperability tests.
Interfaces:
  • BT.656 Video input (video acquisition)
  • BT.656 Video output (restitution of reference video)
  • NAL output interface (stream output)
  • PCI configuration and test interface
  • Interfaces to external DDR and FLASH devices
  • Stereo audio input/output (serial interface)
  • I²C bus for external chip configuration (like video decoder)

PCI interface allows the configuration of H.264 profile, bit rate (up to 10 Mbit/s) and mode (CBR or VBR).

This binary encoder for FPGA target allows customer to use it as a complete encoder chip without needing to completely understand the H.264/MPEG4-AVC standard.
