DATA
ACQUISITION AND REAL TIME DIGITAL CONTROL SOFTWARE
on PC and Compatibe
PURPOSE
Connecting a computer to
the real process is a key issue for tuning a good controller
:
at the beginning one collects input/output data for system
identification,
at the end, one tests the performances of the designed
controller.
WINTRAC is a real time software for data acquisition and
digital control which can operate on various types of plants
(motors, chemical processes, thermal processes, robots...).
The computer is connected to the plant by means of standards
input/output boards (with A/D and D/A converters).
WINTRAC allows first to collect input/output data during the
normal operation of the process, without disturbing their
operation, by issuing very low magnitude test signals. These
data can then be used for the identification of a model of
the process to be controlled (using, for example, WinPIM
software).
Once the controller has been designed (for example using
WinREG software), WinTRAC allows
to test it on the real plant. The user can define the type
of reference signal to be used and then display in real-time
the evolution of the reference signal, of the plant input
and of the measured plant output. The user may modify the
reference in real-time and has the possibility to compare
the results obtained with several controllers. The range of
sampling periods that may be used starts from 2 ms (on a PC
486 at 66 Mhz), and does not have an upper limit.
SOFTWARE DESCRIPTION
After
specification of the sampling period, the software offer the
following options:
* data acquisition of analog signals coming from various
transducers (up to 8 differents signals
depending of the type of I/O boards used), simultaneously
with the eventual exitation of the
actuators, corresponding to a test protocol in order to get
relevant I/O data for plant model
identification.
* control in real-time of the plant, with the following
options :
- specification of the coefficients of each element of the
closed loops (which may be read directly from a file
containing a controller computed with WinREG).
- specification of the reference signal profile : steps,
square, wave, triangle, sinusoid or another signal stored in
a file.
- specification of the saturations to be imposed to the
control signal.
- specification of the initial steady state and the way to
reach it.
- observation of the evolution in real-time of the various
signals :
reference,control signal, plant output.
* When a control experiment is completed, a graphical
analysis of data is possible (zoom, moving line,
superposition of curves ...).
* WinTRAC allows to do data acquisition during operation of
the controller, in order to perform identification in closed
loop.
- WinTRAC is a part of WinPIM+TR, software package including
:
- WinPIM (identification of parametric models)
- WinREG (digital controllers design and analysis)
