Brief Description Software
MCON
The
Windows program MCON is used for the simulation and control of
nearly arbitrary dynamic processes and is specially designed for
control applications in industry and education. The program is
characterized by the following features:

- Block diagramatic simulation of dynamic systems
- Real-time capabilities with minimum sampling time of 10ms
- Process interface with drivers for different AD/DA-converter
cards
- Process monitoring with measuring, control and indicating
devices
- Documentation of simulation and measured results
- Simple 'Drag & Drop' operation and online help
- Large library with signal sources, standard control elements,
steady state characteristics and arithmetic functions
- Running under Windows 3.1, Windows 95 and Windows NT*
- Support and updates via mailbox or internet
- Documentation and support in English
- Free demo software
*without IO support

MCON helps to represent, to understand and to simulate complex
relations of the classic control theory.
With MCON a model is generated by simply mouse dropping of the
necessary element onto the desktop, establishing the necessary
connections and adjusting the standard parameters. The structure of
the system is arbitrarily selectable. The operation with MCON is
violently simplified by using complex elements like PID controllers
or oscilloscopes.
The real-time processing and the support of I/O cards enable the
integration of the simulation in the real technical process (at the
moment the adapter cards PCL812, DAC98, DAC6214, DIC24 and the
laboratory experiments of amira are supported, more is in
preparation). Therefore MCON can replace parts of the process, like
the controller or the plant which has to be controlled. A further
use of MCON is the supervision of an existing process or the
aquisition of measured data.
With MCON very praxis oriented models can be generated by using
non-linear transfer elements and parameterizing of the components
which have to be integrated in a sensible range.
The free demo
version of MCON already includes numerous functions of the full
version and can be used without temporal restrictions. This allows
the test of the program without any risks. Students are able to
carry out preparations and exercises at home.
The minimum requirements of MCON are a PC with 80386 processor,
mathematic co-processor and 4 MB RAM. A 80486 processor and 8 MB RAM
is recommended for the real-time processing. |
