Overview:
|
The JPEG2000 Encoder
Library is a highly optimized product intended for leading edge
image/video compression and data transmission applications.
JPEG2000 image compression standard provides a significant
improvement in compression quality in comparison with other
image compression standards, such as JPEG. This property of
JPEG2000 image compression standard provides substantial image
data archive size reduction without any quality deterioration.
JPEG2000 is recommended for use in surveillance, video
monitoring, digital cinema and other applications. The standard
also supports additional features such as lossless coding,
regions of interest, and tools for transmission over error-prone
networks. These features are supported in Alarity's library.
The JPEG2000 Encoder Library is based on a number of
proprietary algorithms such as rate-dependent rate-allocation
algorithm, which speeds up the encoding process on higher
compression rates. There are also several platform-dependent
optimization techniques used in the JPEG2000 Encoder Library,
such as utilization of fixed point arithmetic.
Library supports lossy and lossless compression for
grayscale, RGB and YUV images with different sub-sampling
ratios.
