SPECIFICATIONS

The emulator enables the TMS320 Debugger Interface, which is sold separately, to control the C5x on the target board. This is done by interfacing the target system to the emulator via the JTAG emulation cable. The Debugger can then be used to verify the functionality of the C5x software and target hardware.

The emulators use scan-based emulation which is a nonintrusive approach to system emulation and debug. The emulator connects to a 14-pin header that must be designed into the target board. This header consists of a power signal, a clock signal, some ground signals and the 4 JTAG pins of the C54x.
