DESCRIPTION
The TMS320 Extended Development Systems (XDSs) are powerful, full-speed emulators used for system-level integration and debug. TI provides the world's first in-system scan-based emulators.

TI provides emulation systems for both PC and SPARC systems.

The emulator enables the Code Composer Debugger Interface, which is sold separately, to control the device on the target board. This is done by interfacing the target system to the emulator via the JTAG emulation cable. The Debugger can then be used to verify the functionality of the software and target hardware.

The emulators use scan-based emulation which is a nonintrusive approach to system emulation and debug. The emulator connects to a 14-pin header that must be designed into the target board.
