Venturi Meter for Flow Measurements at Tank-Systems

For precise flow measurements an extension kit is available which operates according to the Venturi principle. The Venturi meter is mounted on a further platform above the pumps and contains all mechanical mounting parts, pipes and fittings. The Venturi tube itself is very precisely manufactured of acrylic glass. An industrial type of a differential pressure sensor delivers a signal in the range of 4-20mA as a measured variable for the flow. The measuring range is 0-7 l/min. A disturbance step in the flow can be generated with the installed magnetic valve. The supply voltage of the sensor is 24VDC, the magnetic valve uses a control voltage of 24VAC. The Venturi meter is connected with the outlet of the pump and the inlet of the tank. The liquid draining out of the magnetic valve is directly led into the reservoir by means of a pipe adapter. With this measuring system the laboratory setups "Three-Tank-System DTS200" and "Tank-System TS201" present themselves in new fields of application:

• Identification of the flow plant (1. order) and linearization of the square relationship between the differential pressure and the flow.
• Realization of simple flow control loops.
• Realization of a cascade control (level and flow).
• Realization of disturbance observers for disturbance steps in the inlet of tank systems.

Note: The Venturi meter is delivered for customized purposes. The electronic as well as the software of the laboratory experiments don't support the functionality of the Venturi meter.
